A hygiene staple for the everyday American man that has maintained steady growth for over a century yet was in desperate need of new life. Aqua Velva is a men’s aftershave product that has been passed down from generation to generation with the sole purpose to provide it’s customer with a shaving experience like no other. I researched into the lengthy and historically rich identity that is the ground-work for this classic brand, on a mission to bring it to the 21st century. I focused on redesigning the packaging of their signature scent Ice Blue to be more luxurious, appear fresher, and to encourage the user to feel alluring. Introducing a smooth gradient on the packaging with the flowing lines reinforces the idea of freshness and the movement of the scent wafting around the user. I chose to use a crisp sans-serif for the word mark paired with their signature diamond shape of the “AV” but with a modern and luxurious twist.

bottle design

This is a 3-D printed prototype of the bottle design for Ice Blue showing that when all the bottles sit next to each other the embossed lines flow into the different bottles: the travel cologne, full size cologne, and the after shave. The “AV” logo will also be embossed on the top of the cap.
